VHS tapes are items used for story progression. Most contain interactable episodes of Amanda the Adventurer, while others—usually secret tapes—contain a relevant recorded video.

Five are found in Amanda the Adventurer: Pilot Episode, with two being secrets. 15 are found in Amanda the Adventurer, with three having an alternate version and six being secrets. The tapes are collected via puzzles solved using clues in an episode.

Secret tapes[]

The secret tapes are obtained when you:

• Make a peach pie instead of an apple pie after watching "In the Kitchen".
• Pause "In Your Neighborhood (Version 2)" while at the corner store and play the music score on the piano. Here's a hint: The letters behind the keys will spell out the word FACADE if you play them in the correct order.
• Give Gret-chan a yellow flower and when you turn around and then face her again, the doll will be holding one of the secret tapes.
• During "What's a Family?", when Amanda asks what the daddy chicken is called, tell her Sam. Amanda will ask how you know that name and then, after pausing or finishing the video, the player can turn around and find a secret tape on the attic floor.
• During "Oh No! Accidents!", when Amanda asks who can help you when you're hurt, tell her nobody. Amanda will say, "You're probably right..." and then the tape will play out as if you had chosen a doctor. After pausing or finishing the video, turn around and you'll find a secret tape on the floor.
