"In Your Neighborhood" is the second tape the player watches in Amanda the Adventurer. Both versions are obtained via the toy oven puzzle.
Synopsis[]
Amanda and Wooly visit shops to send a gift to Amanda's friend as a thank-you.
Transcript[]
The title card for Amanda the Adventurer is shown. It cuts to Amanda and Wooly waving at the camera. They are standing in front of a corner store, bakery, and post office. Outlines of dead bodies are on the sidewalks.
- Amanda: "Hi, friends! I'm Amanda!"
- Wooly: "And I'm Wooly!"
- Amanda: "What do you like best about your neighborhood?"
Amanda waits for the viewer to respond.
- Amanda: "That's great! I like that there are so many friends in my neighborhood!"
Wooly looks behind Amanda and sees something that makes him look worried. He then shakes his head and returns to smiling.
- Amanda: "Today, I want to send something special to my friend. First, I need to go to the store to buy them a card! Do you know where the store is?"
If the player doesn't click the corner store:
- Amanda: [chuckles] "That's not the store, silly!"
After the second time:
- Amanda: [irritated] "It says "store" on it."
After the third time, the bakery and post office close, represented with large "CLOSED" signs.
- Amanda: [irritated] "I'm kind of in a hurry, here!"
After clicking the corner store:
- Amanda: "Good job! Let's go to the store!"
After some brief static, the video cuts to the interior of the store. Three stands for three different types of cards are shown.
- Amanda: "Let's pick out a card! My friend helped me when I was sad. What kind of card should I send them?"
If the player clicks the birthday cards:
- Amanda: [amused] "It's not their birthday!"
If the player clicks the funeral cards:
- Amanda: "Do you think that's what they need?"
After answering incorrectly for the third time (or picking the same cards), the birthday and funeral cards disappear.
- Amanda: [irritated] "What do you say when someone helps you?"
In this scene, the price for a Blabbot is shown. If the player pauses the TV and inserts "150325" into Blabbot:
- Amanda: "I don't want to play anymore right now."
The tape suddenly ends.
Next episode: "Oh No! Accidents! (Version 2)"
After clicking the thank you cards:
- Amanda: "Great! I found the perfect card! Time for the next errand!"
The video glitches and freezes before cutting back to the street. The corner store is now closed.
- Amanda: "When friends do nice things, it's important to thank them. I want to get my friend a special treat!"
- Wooly: "Can I have a special treat?"
Amanda ignores Wooly, which briefly upsets him.
- Amanda: "I want to get my friend a special treat! Where can I buy a treat for my friend?"
If the player clicks the post office:
- Amanda: [sarcastically] "Wow, your friends must love your treats from the post office."
Clicking the post office again causes it to close.
- Amanda: "I hope all the treats aren't stale by the time we get there! Can you show me where to go?"
After clicking the bakery:
- Amanda: "Good job! Let's go get that treat!"
The video freezes momentarily before cutting to the inside of the bakery. A poorly modeled baker stands behind a counter. Wooly smells the pastries:
- Wooly: "Mmm, everything smells so good!"
- Amanda: "I want to buy my friend some-"
The scene distorts, switching to what seems to be a butcher shop. It quickly returns to normal.
- Amanda: "-buy my friend some cookies. Can you show me where the cookies are?"
If the player clicks the cake or the cupcakes:
- Amanda: "I don't think my friend will like that."
After the second time:
- Amanda: [irritated] "I can't mail that to my friend!"
After the third time, the cake and cupcakes become sold out.
- Amanda: [angrily] "I WANT THE COOKIES!"
Amanda glares, with Wooly looking frightened.
After clicking the cookies:
- Amanda: "Those look so tasty! We just have one more stop in the neighborho--"
The video glitches as it cuts back to the street again. The bakery is now closed.
- Amanda: "The package is ready for my friend! They live pretty far from me, so we need to mail it!"
- Wooly: "Wow, it's getting late. Most of the stores are closed. We probably can't send that now."
- Amanda: "I have to send this to my friend. [to Riley] It's time to go to the post office!"
It cuts to the inside of the post office. A clerk, also poorly modeled, stands behind a counter.
- Amanda: "Let's send this package to my friend. Their name is- Wait... I don't remember. Can you help me?"
- Wooly: "We can come back tomorrow. You don't have to send that now."
- Amanda: "No, I have to send this to my friend! [to Riley] Help me! Who does the package need to go to?"
A four-letter prompt appears.
If the player types anything but "Kate":
- Amanda: "No, that's not my friend's name."
After the second time:
- Amanda: "You have to know their name!"
After typing "Kate":
- Amanda: "Great work!"
Wooly looks disappointed.
- Amanda: "Now, we can send this to my friend! I hope she likes the cookies!"

Previous episode: "In the Kitchen"
Next episode: "Oh No! Accidents!"
The title card for Amanda the Adventurer is shown, albeit distorted. It cuts to Amanda and Wooly waving at the camera. Instead of three buildings, there are now four, with a meat store and candy store instead of the bakery.
- Amanda: "Hi there! I'm Amanda!"
- Wooly: "And I'm Wooly! Uh, Amanda, maybe some of our friends... can come back to the neighborhood?"
Amanda faces Wooly for a split second. She continues, upsetting Wooly.
- Amanda: "That's great! I like that there are so many friends in my neighborhood! Today, I want to send something special to my friend! First, I need to go to the store to buy them a card! Do you know where the store is?"
If the player doesn't click the corner store:
- Amanda: "I don't need to go there right now."
After the second time:
- Amanda: [irritated] "Do you think this is funny?"
After the third time:
- Amanda: "Just take me to the store!"
After the fourth time, the other stores disappear.
- Amanda: "Now, can you tell me where I need to go?"
After clicking the corner store:
- Amanda: "Good job! Let's go to the store!"
It cuts to the inside of the store.
- Amanda: "Let's pick out a card! My frien—"
The video cuts and a darkened close-up of Amanda is shown.
- Amanda: "Something... bad happened..."
It returns to normal.
- Amanda: "What kind of card should I send them?"
After clicking any of the cards:
- Amanda: "That's not the right card!"
After the second time:
- Amanda: "I don't think we want this..."
Wooly walks up to the camera.
- Wooly: "I think Amanda is confused. Heh heh heh heh. Hmmmmm. Shhh. Here's a secret. It's my birthday! Maybe we can help her out."
Not clicking the birthday cards causes the other cards to become sold out.
- Wooly: "Go ahead and pick a card, friend."
After clicking the birthday cards:
- Amanda: [to Riley] "Are you sure that's right? I don't—"
- Wooly: "It looks like it! I bet your friend is really going to love this card."
It cuts back to the street.
- Amanda: "My friend is... My friend... My friend is having a birthday!"
Wooly winks.
- Amanda: "I want to get my friend a special treat! Where can I buy a treat for my friend? Oooh, I know! Let's get them some nice candy. Do you know where the candy store is?"
If the player doesn't click the candy store:
- Amanda: "They don't have anything we need."
After the second time:
- Amanda: "Look at the stores. Which one sells candy?"
After the third time, the other stores disappear.
- Amanda: [sigh] "Does this help?"
After clicking the candy store:
- Amanda: "Great, let's—"
All of the stores are suddenly replaced with the meat store.
- Amanda: [angrily] "Why did you do that!? Now I can't find the candy store! [saddened] I don't know where to go! Can you help me?"
After clicking any of the stores, three of them disappear.
- Amanda: "Don't DO THAT!"
After clicking the store for the second time:
- Amanda: "I don't want to go there!"
After the third time:
- Amanda: "I said, I [with a second voice] DON'T WANT TO GO IN THERE!!"
After the fourth time:
- Amanda: "No! Why is this happening!?"
After the fifth time:
- Amanda: "NO!! WHY CAN'T I STOP IT!?!?"
After some brief static, it cuts to the inside of the meat store. A butcher stands behind a counter, which has two kinds of meat in glass boxes and a cleaver in a cutting board.
- Wooly: [nervous] "This isn't the candy store!"
- Amanda: "There is nothing here that I want..."
- Wooly: "Maybe you can take us someplace else...?"
- Amanda: [to Riley] "I want to get my friend a special treat..."
After clicking the cleaver or one of the meats, it disappears.
- Amanda: "I want to get my friend a special treat!"
If the player clicks Wooly:
- Wooly: "That's not funny!"
After clicking any of the meats:
- Amanda: "LET ME OUT OF HERE!!"
The video distorts before it cuts back to the street. All of the stores are burnt and destroyed.
- Wooly: [nervous] "Wow, Amanda. That's... that's a nice birthday card. Do you want to give it to your friend now?"
- Amanda: [to Riley] "Will you address the card? Who should I send this to...?"
A five-letter prompt appears.
If the player doesn't type "Wooly":
- Wooly: "I don't think it's their birthday."
After the second time:
- Wooly: "The card is for someone really cute!"
After the third time, Wooly's name in the subtitles is replaced with question marks.
- Wooly: "Gosh, I guess you really forgot..."
After typing "Wooly":
- Amanda: "Oh, Wooly! It's your birthday!"
She goes to give the card to Wooly before the tape ends.
Previous episode: "In the Kitchen"
Next episode: "What's a Family?"Trivia[]
- Ironically, the 24/7 corner store closes.
- In the second version, typing Sam counts as an answer to who the card should be addressed, though it changes nothing.
