Kensdale is a town in Ohio, United States. It is known for being the origin of Amanda the Adventurer, which aired on public access. The positive reception from the town led to the show being recognized and syndicated nationally by Hameln Entertainment.

Amanda the Adventurer is a children's animated series created by Sam Colton. The show started as a live-action public-access show in Kensdale, but was purchased and animated by Hameln Entertainment following the positive reception from the town. Amanda the Adventurer later developed a paranormal nature that caused children watching to be seen in a trance and disappear.

Coffee Break is a public-access talk show hosted by Sadie Koppen. Guests are invited to the show to discuss a creation of theirs while having coffee and cookies.

Two guests were Sam Colton, the creator of Amanda the Adventurer (and Sadie's former studio neighbor), and florist Rose Matthews, who owns Rose's Bouquet.

The Kensdale Daily is a local newspaper based in Kensdale. On March 24, 2000, the newspaper featured Sam and Amanda the Adventurer. The Kensdale Daily also reports international news, having covered the stealing of the Crown of the Stag in Ireland. Two journalists are Lacey Mitchel and Francisco Kelly.

KND 97[]

KND 97 is a radio station in Kensdale. It is hosted by DJ Brandon AM. On February 20, 2023, the station played the national anthem on repeat in celebration of President's Day.

News 45[]

News 45 is a local news channel. In 2001, they reported Sam's disappearance and gave a recap of the history of Amanda the Adventurer.

  • Joanne Cook described her brother's disappearance as "[a] regular old suburban tragedy", which may hint at Kensdale being close to a major city.
  • The report of the Crown of the Stag references Clan O'Conall and the Crown of the Stag, an indie action platformer.
  • "Kensdale", while a fictional town name, is derived from the real-world town of Kendal, which is also in Ohio.
