The Kensdale Public Library (KPL) is a public library in Kensdale, Ohio. It is where Kate Park worked as a librarian. After her passing, her nibling Riley Park would visit to further investigate the Amanda the Adventurer series.[1]

The library's mascot is Wooly, an anthropomorphic sheep who is also a character in Amanda the Adventurer.

History[]

The Kensdale Public Library opened as late as 1992.[2] A notable librarian is Kate Park, who may have worked there since its opening and was deemed excellent at her work.[3]

In 1999[4] when Sam Colton's public-access show Amanda the Adventurer grew in popularity, Kate would further promote it during storytimes at the library. Sam thanked her for this on Coffee Break and recognized her as a "champion of the project".[5]

After Amanda the Adventurer was animated and nationalized by Hameln Entertainment, the Kensdale Public Library would host "Wooly's Read-A-Thon" in late 2001,[6] featuring Amanda's voice actor, Rebecca Colton. However, Rebecca's appearance would be canceled by Hameln following Sam's disappearance three weeks prior.[7]

When the controversy surrounding Amanda the Adventurer started rising, Kate began investigating the show, doing some of her work at the library.[1] A woman named Joanne Cook found the library to be her safe place after her younger brother disappeared. She felt grateful for Kate being there for her.[8]

As early as 2019,[9] Kate passed away with her research unfinished, leaving it up to her nibling, Riley, to whom she bequeathed her house to. Riley learned about the dark nature of Amanda the Adventurer via VHS tapes of the show and went to the Kensdale Public Library to investigate further. A masked figure, who met Riley at their house, needs their help to retrieve something Kate left at the library.[1]
