"Let's Hunt for Treasure!" is a tape found in Amanda the Adventurer 2.
Synopsis[]
Amanda and Wooly decide to search for the special toy in the forest.
Transcript[]
Amanda and Wooly are in a forest, the former holds a shovel.
- Amanda: "Hi! [brief glitch] I'm Amanda!"
- Wooly: "And I'm Wooly!"
- Amanda: "Today we are playing bandits! [to Wooly] Come on, where'd ya hide the loot?" [points the shovel at him]
- Wooly: "Careful, or you'll break it."
- Amanda: [laughs] "Wooly, you're a pretty boring bandit."
- Wooly: "Aw."
- Amanda: [to Riley] "Bandits hide all kinds of things in the woods. It's fun to go look for treasure!"
- Wooly: "But you should probably tell someone where you'll—"
- Amanda: "Never tell anyone where you're going! They might get to the treasure before you do!"
- Wooly: [sighs]
Zoom in on Amanda.
- Amanda: "There's a legend that there is a special toy hidden deep in these woods."
She takes out of map, followed by a close-up of it.
- Amanda: "Which direction should we go to find the treasure?"
A five-letter prompt appears.
If the player types "south":
- Amanda: "We can't go any farther south! Look carefully at the map!"
If the player types "east", toward a swamp:
- Amanda: "I don't know if we'll find anything over there, but it sounds like an adventure to me! Let's go!"
Amanda and Wooly walk east. Fade in to the two at the swamp.
- Wooly: [covers nose] "Ew... did you leave some eggs in your pocket, Amanda?"
- Amanda: "No, Wooly, that's what swamps smell like! It's sulfur!"
- Wooly: "Yuck! If there's any treasure in this swamp, it can stay here!"
Amanda laughs as she and Wooly walk away. Fade back to the starting area.
- Amanda: "Which way should we go to find the treasure?"
If the player types "west", toward a danger zone:
- Amanda: "I think you're right! The bandits played a trick on us to try to keep us away. Let's go!"
Amanda and Wooly walk west. Fade in to Amanda inspecting a mound of dirt in a shaded area.
- Wooly: "Amanda, I don't like it here. Are you sure this is where the treasure is?"
- Amanda: "Shush, Wooly, look! There's a mound of dirt! It must be where the treasure was buried!"
Amanda grunts as she digs a hole. She then peeks inside.
- Amanda: "This... isn't... treasure..."
An ominous ambient noise plays as clothes are shown to be inside the hole. After a moment, Wooly takes the shovel and begins reburying the clothes.
- Wooly: "You know what else is fun, Amanda? Burying things!"
- Amanda: [sorrowfully] "Yeah, Wooly... sometimes you just have to bury things..."
After brief static, Wooly is finished filling the hole.
- Wooly: "Come on, Amanda! Let's keep looking for that treasure."
Amanda follows behind Wooly, taking a final peek at the mound. Cut to the two back at the starting area.
- Wooly: "Which way should we go to find the treasure?"
If the player types an invalid direction:
- Amanda: "That's not a direction, silly! Come on, or other bandits might beat us to the treasure!"
After the second time:
- Amanda: "Don't you know your cardinal directions? Tell me where to go."
After the player types "north", toward the marked treasure:
- Amanda: "I think you're right! Let's go!"
Amanda and Wooly walk north. Fade in to the two at three marked mounds of dirt. The Opossum is hiding in a tree.
- Amanda: "Oooh, I have a good feeling about this! Where should we dig for the treasure?"
If the player clicks the O or square markings:
- Amanda: "Hmm... look more closely at the markings. I don't think that's it."
After the second time:
- Amanda: "You really don't make a good bandit, do you?"
After the third time, rain appears and washes the O and square markings away.
- Amanda: "Where should we dig for the treasure?"
After clicking the X:
- Amanda: "Yes! That marking matches the one on the map! Let's dig!"
The Opossum falls out of the tree.
- Amanda: "Great, here we go again!"
- Wooly: "Seriously, who is that guy?"
The Opossum gets up and runs to the left, quickly appears on the right, hangs on a tree close to the camera, runs in the background, sniffs the camera, then rolls and falls next to the X. It then jumps toward Amanda, who falls backward as it attempts to steal her shovel.
- Amanda: "A little help here!"
After clicking the Opossum, it suddenly plays dead.
- Amanda: [gets up] "Thanks for your help!"
Close-up of the Opossum. Amanda kicks it, causing it to loudly scream and flee.
- Wooly: "That guy's gonna give me a heart attack."
- Amanda: "Hmm... Maybe I should get him to come back."
- Wooly: "What?"
- Amanda: "Let's dig!"
If the player does nothing, the Opossum succeeds in taking the shovel. It bashes the shovel against a tree, breaking it in a half before climbing the tree, out of sight.
- Wooly: "I told you to be careful."
- Amanda: "Ugh! Now my shovel's broken. It's a good thing I always carry extra supplies. You never know what you're going to need on an adventure."
The video glitches. A crowbar, bloody gloves, and wood glue are shown.
- Amanda: "What can I use to fix my shovel?"
If the player clicks the gloves, they disappear.
- Amanda: "I don't think those will help us now, but I never leave home without them! I'd really like to fix this shovel!"
If the player clicks the crowbar:
- Amanda: "I don't think that will help. I only use those to— [static; the crowbar disappears] What can I use to fix my shovel?"
After clicking the wood glue:
- Amanda: "Good job! We can use the wood glue to fix the shovel!"
- Amanda: "Okay, bandits, let's get to digging!"
- Wooly: "Amanda, I don't have a shovel."
- Amanda: "Bandits should always come prepared. I guess you'll have to use your hands."
- Wooly: "Aw."
Amanda and Wooly dig a hole, the latter falling in as he digs. Amanda reaches inside.
- Amanda: "We did all that digging for this!? [pulls out a dirty toy] Maybe this was important to someone once, but not anymore. [drops the toy back in] Ugh. Come on, Wooly, let's get out of here."
Amanda walks away. Wooly is still in the hole.
- Wooly: "Uhh... Amanda? A little help here? Are you still up there? [sighs]"

The video cuts to the ending logo of Hameln Entertainment, but before it finishes, it cuts to Amanda.
- Amanda: "Actually, you know what? No! I'm not done treasure hunting! I really thought we'd find something special, and you didn't help me at all! So you'd better find something good for me! [pause] Do you have a treasure out there that will make me happy?!"
The Entity appears behind the TV.
- Amanda: "Tick tock! Tick tock! Tick tock! Time's running out!"
The Entity holds out its hands, waiting to be handed an item.
Later:
- Amanda: "I'm getting tired of waiting."
Riley hands The Entity one of the scattered toys. It stares at it for a moment.
- Masked Figure (radio): "Riley?"
It contorts its head.
- Masked Figure (radio): "Riley!?"
It sniffs and licks the toy.
- Masked Figure (radio): "Riley, are you okay!?"
Seemingly displeased, it then rips the toy in half.
- Masked Figure (radio): "Riley! Get out of there!"
The Entity pins Riley to the floor and bites their head, killing them.
Previous episode: "Let's Practice Patience!" / "When You're Feeling Bad"
Having smashed the display case containing a Wooly plushie, Riley hands it to The Entity. It stares at it for a moment, contorts its head, sniffs and licks the toy, then stares at it again as its breathing picks up. It then roars as it tears apart the toy.
Suddenly, a howl is heard outside the library. The Entity shoves Riley out of the way and heads to the office, destroying the door. A clang is heard as it presumably reenters the vent system.

- After Amanda and Wooly walk east, as the scene fades, Amanda suddenly moves back toward her original position.
- When Wooly says, "did you leave some eggs in your pocket, Amanda?" the subtitles say "backpack" instead of "pocket".
- The episode, particularly the marked spots scene, has similar aspects with "Finding Treasure" from Amanda the Adventurer: Pilot Episode.
