Rebecca and Sam in the Green Tape

Rebecca Colton was the adoptive daughter of Sam Colton, who starred as the titular protagonist of his show, Amanda the Adventurer. From unknown circumstances, Rebecca is heavily implied to be trapped as Amanda in the show.

Appearance[]

Rebecca is a young African-American female. She has brown skin, brown eyes, and dark brown hair in braids. In the Red Tape, she wears a black jacket with a small white heart print and wears a pink bag on her left shoulder.

History[]

At an unknown age, Rebecca was put up for adoption by her unknown biological parents. In the late '90s, she would be adopted by Sam.[1]

Her joyous view of the world would become Sam's inspiration to create a live-action show titled Amanda the Adventurer in 1999,[1] with Rebecca starring as the titular protagonist, Amanda. The show became a hit in her hometown, Kensdale, with it also being promoted by the local librarian, Katherine Park.[2] Over a year after the show's creation, it was purchased by Hameln Entertainment, who wanted to turn it into a cartoon and promote it nationally.[3]

Sometime in 2001,[4] Sam and Rebecca would go to Hameln's Headquarters to record lines with the Hameln Director. This session involved Rebecca reading a script that contained odd, repeated phrases, which unbeknownst to her and Sam, were the names of three demons (Bael, Paimon, and Balaam). The director reassured Sam that the words help "train the technology's dynamic voice reaction." Rebecca then hears a "man in the headphones" that tells her something she refuses to do. Sam believes she's upset and wants the session to stop.[5]

In late 2001,[4] Sam mysteriously disappeared without a trace. Hameln released a written statement, claiming that he abandoned the show and Rebecca and that they "cannot speculate on his reasons for leaving."[3] With Sam out of the way, the director interviewed Rebecca on March 8, 2002, and had her sign a contract, a scientist taking notes as she did. This most likely allowed them to gain custody of Rebecca and/or to continue their experiments. Afterward, the scientist would guide her to a guarded room.[6]

What happened next to Rebecca is unknown. In the show, Amanda's dialogue implies something tragic and cruel occurred that ended up with Rebecca somehow merging with Amanda and a homicidal creature.

Trivia[]

  • The Green Tape is the only time Rebecca is heard speaking.
