— Rebecca and Sam in "Recording Booth" |
Rebecca Colton was the adoptive daughter of Sam Colton, who starred as the titular protagonist of his show, Amanda the Adventurer. From unknown circumstances by Hameln Entertainment, Rebecca is heavily implied to be trapped as Amanda in the show.
Appearance[]
Rebecca is a young African American female. She has brown skin, brown eyes, and dark brown hair in braids. In a photo in "News Report", she wears a black jacket with a small white heart print and a pink bag on her left shoulder.
History[]
Rebecca was born in 1996 or 1997.[1] At an unspecified point, she was put up for adoption. In the late 1990s, Rebecca was adopted by Sam Colton.[2]
Rebecca's joyous view of the world would inspire Sam to create a live-action public-access series titled Amanda the Adventurer in 1999,[2] with Rebecca starring as the titular protagonist, Amanda. The show became a hit in her hometown of Kensdale, Ohio. It was also promoted by the local librarian, Kate Park,[3] who Rebecca sometimes visited.[4] Over a year after Amanda the Adventurer's debut, it was purchased by Hameln Entertainment, who wanted to turn it into an animated series and promote it nationally.[5]
Sometime in 2001,[6] Sam and Rebecca would go to Hameln's headquarters to record lines with the Hameln Director. This session involved Rebecca reading a script that contained odd, repeated phrases, which unbeknownst to her and Sam, were the names of three demons (Bael, Paimon, and Balaam). The Director reassured Sam that the words help "train the technology's dynamic voice reaction." Rebecca then heard a "man in the headphones" that told her something she refused to do. Sam believed she was upset, making him frustrated with the Director.[7]
In late 2001,[6] Sam was abducted by Hameln and held at their headquarters. Three weeks after he was declared missing, Hameln released a written statement, claiming Sam abandoned Amanda the Adventurer and Rebecca and that they "cannot speculate on his reasons for leaving."[5] Hameln would gain custody of Rebecca.[8]
On March 8, 2002, the Director brought in Rebecca and had her sign a contract for unclear purposes, a scientist taking notes as she did. Afterward, the scientist guided her to a guarded room.[9] Implied to have involved surgical means, Hameln would later take Rebecca's consciousness and place it inside Amanda the Adventurer, trapping her as Amanda.
Nearly 15 years after Rebecca's transplant, she would attempt to contact Kate and her associates Peter and Caroline, who were investigating Amanda the Adventurer and Hameln. Peter expressed doubt about Rebecca still being alive and if they were actually making contact with her, the latter Kate and Caroline were convinced had happened.[1]
Trivia[]
