Riley Park is the protagonist of Amanda the Adventurer and Amanda the Adventurer 2.

Riley moved into their Aunt Kate's house in Kensdale, Ohio, following her death. In the attic, Riley discovered VHS tapes containing episodes of Amanda the Adventurer, where they uncovered Amanda's situation and the background of the show's development. To learn further, Riley traveled to the Kensdale Public Library, encountering a masked figure who needed Riley's help to find something Kate left behind.

Appearance

As the game is played from a first-person perspective, Riley is not seen and may be based on the appearance of the player. Their gender is unknown.

History

Much of Riley is unknown. A known event from their early life is when they were gifted Roller-skates from Kate, writing a letter thanking her and mentioning their dad falling over while using them.

Years later, Riley would receive a letter from Kate. In it, she vaguely talks about her upcoming fate and bequeathing her house in Kensdale to Riley. She warns them of a tape in the attic and that there's "no turning back" after watching it.

Riley finds the aforementioned tape in the house's attic and watches it on a TV next to it. It's an episode of a children's cartoon titled Amanda the Adventurer, starring the titular protagonist, Amanda, and her best friend, Wooly, an anthropomorphic sheep. Somehow, Riley can interact with the show, being able to answer Amanda's questions and choose objects that she needs.

Riley finds more tapes of the show through hints in the episodes, which are used to solve puzzles of objects that mysteriously appear and move around the attic. They soon realize the show isn't all that it seems and that something evil may be surrounding it.

After finding evidence from the Attic, Riley decided to go to Kensdale Public Library to find more evidence on Amanda the Adventurer.

Trivia

• Aunt Kate refers to Riley as "Querida" in the Spanish version, and "Querida" stands up for "Dear" referring to a female person, which may or may not confirm Riley's gender.
• Riley might be of either English or Korean descent going by their surname.
